ANNE PENSALFINI has been an improviser since 1996 - entertaining more audiences than you can shake a stick at for the Disney Cruiseline, Imagination Workshop (ITA) and Hoozat, as well the oldest comedy theatre in the US, The Brave New Workshop. Anne has led courses – in improvisation, Shakespeare, drama, group mind - for UQ, QUT, Griffith Uni, the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble, Vena Cava/Underground, The Queensland Art Gallery, Livewire Theatre for Young People, the Australian Actors’ Academy and private Brisbane performance ensembles. A working actress since 1993, Anne’s performance highlights include: Claudia in Queensland Theatre Company's The Woman Before; a summer as a comedienne aboard the Disney Cruiseline; 14-plus years of performing comedy improvisation and interactive theatre in Brisbane and Minneapolis (Fawlty Towers, Tony 'n Tina's Wedding, Flanagan's Wake,); 5 years as a Core member of the Queensland Shakespeare Ensemble (QSE); extensive training with the US Shakespeare & Company; heaps of theatre in Minneapolis and Chicago; and over 150 TV commercials, films, corporate videos and events in the US. She has been a Core Ensemble member, director and teacher with QSE and trained extensively in voice, movement, and Shakespeare both with the Ensemble, and Shakespeare & Company in Massachusetts. She has also studied Theatre of Oppressed as a facilitator of QSE’s prison project. Last year Anne went to the source of long-form improvisation - Chicago’s Improv Olympic – to study with Charna Halpern and other long-form gurus.
